Holly M. Gilliam, PsyD is a licensed clinical psychologist in the District of Columbia. After graduating Stony Brook University with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, she went on to complete a Master’s and Doctoral program for Clinical Psychology at the University of Denver. She completed an APA accredited internship in General Mental Health/ Integrated Primary Care at WellSpan-Philhaven and an APA accredited post-doctoral residency in Health Psychology at the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare Services.
At MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital, Dr. Gilliam provides outpatient services for a adults struggling with mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety, and also adults living with with chronic pain. Using an assortment of approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness, Dr. Gilliam teaches people skills to better manage their pain and mental illness. Additionally, she teaches skills to address the negative impact their pain may have had on their emotional well-being and relationships. Dr. Gilliam also conducts pre-surgical assessments for spinal cord stimulator candidates.
