James Edward Tozzi, MD, is a member of the MedStar Georgetown Orthopaedic Institute and performs surgery at our MedStar Washington Hospital Center location. Dr. Tozzi's clinical interests include: spinal disorders (cervical, lumbar), spinal stenosis, disc herniation (cervical, lumbar), spinal deformity, arthritis (hip, knee), minimally-invasive joint replacement and hip and knee revisions. Dr. Tozzi treats these conditions in a superb, state-of-the-art orthopaedic facility at the Hospital Center.
Dr. Tozzi chose his specialty of orthopaedic surgery because he enjoys reconstructing and fixing things. He states that technology allows him to work in a field that is challenging and rewarding. Dr. Tozzi loves what he does because he has the ability to make people whole and to help them return to a full life. He is a straightforward doctor who takes pride in plainly explaining diagnoses and situations to his patients. He focuses on working with people to understand their wishes and goals and deliver on those. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Tozzi says that he's at the top of his game. He enjoys relating to people and helping to improve their lives.
