Leah Bergman, DO is a fellowship-trained cardiologist with the MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center. She is board certified in internal medicine, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.
Dr. Bergman sees patients with a wide spectrum of cardiovascular disease and has a particular interest in preventive cardiology. In addition, she is interested in women and heart disease– understanding that women often put everyone else first and may either ignore initial warning signs, or don’t understand that heart disease may present differently in women.
She feels strongly about treating the whole patient, and not just treating the disease or the condition. She builds relationships with each of her patients so that they not only understand and contribute to the treatment decisions, but so they can work together as a team to accomplish the treatment plan.
Dr. Bergman is an active member of her community and volunteers with many local organizations.
