Dr. Walsh received his medical degree from St. George's University in 1985. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, and joined Wilkens Medical Center in 1989, becoming medical director in 1990. He is a physician advisor for MedStar Family Choice. Dr. Walsh is married with four children.
Dr. Walsh has been awarded recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance and American Diabetes Association Diabetes Recognition Program (DRP). Clinicians who achieve DRP Recognition are part of an elite group that is publicly recognized for its skill in providing the highest level of diabetes care.
Dr. Walsh has also been awarded recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance Physician Practice Connections Patient-Centered Medical Home Program (PPC-PCMH). Recognition identifies clinicians who make the most of clinical information to make better decisions and provide better follow-up care.
