Shakti Nayar, MD, is a board-certified neurologist at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Nayar has a strong clinical background in general Neurology and advanced training in Neuromuscular diseases and Clinical Neurophysiology, in which she is additionally board-certified. She received awards during her training for both her commitment to patient care and for her overall excellence in Neurology, demonstrated by clinical performance, educational abilities, and patient interaction.
Dr. Nayar sees patients with neuromuscular conditions, including spinal stenosis, radiculopathies, neuropathies, myasthenia gravis, myopathies, and ALS, and performs diagnostic tests, including electromyography (EMG). Dr. Nayar is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology.
