William Cohen, MD, is an assistant professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He provides clinical care in the emerging adult Launch Clinic, Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic, and Adult Inpatient Psychiatry Unit at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. His clinical and teaching interests are focused around the developmental considerations of identity, interpersonal relationships, and neurobiology, especially as pertaining to transitional age youth and their families coping with emotional and cognitive problems. Dr. Cohen completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Georgetown University and a General Psychiatry Residency in The Einstein Healthcare Network in Philadelphia. He earned his M.D. from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, and prior to medical school he earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Wesleyan University and then worked with adolescents as a wilderness therapy field instructor in Utah.
