Dr. Mary Finkbone is a clinical audiologist serving adult and pediatric patients at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Finkbone earned her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in American Sign Language at the University of Iowa. She achieved her doctorate in audiology at Gallaudet University, while continuing to immerse herself in American Sign Language and Deaf Culture to better work alongside her Deaf patients. Dr. Finkbone is certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA, CCC-A) and licensed to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia. She is a member of the American Cochlear Implant Alliance (ACIA).
At MGUH, her experience includes adult and pediatric diagnostic evaluations, electrophysiologic measures, vestibular assessment, acoustic and bone-anchored amplification, and cochlear implantation. Dr. Finkbone particularly focuses on MedStar Georgetown's philosophy of caring for the whole person, always considering the patient's lifestyle and personal needs when providing recommendations. She provides patients all the information and treatment options available to help them make the best decision as a team.
