The MedStar Health Research Institute has awarded Amanda Shapiro, a first-year medical student at Georgetown University, a summer research scholarship through the Pines-Kleinman Mental Health Fund. Over eight weeks, under the guidance of Matthew Biel, MD, her research will investigate the use of mindfulness-based therapy for parents of young children. LEARN MORE

Remington, MHSA, assistant vice president of Graduate Medical Education at MedStar Health has been elected to serve a three-year term on the Steering Committee of the Group on Residents Affairs (GRA) of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). The GRA provides its members tools to improve the quality of resident education at both the program and institutional levels.
